Owned
and operated
by the Sampson Family, Duntroon Highlands Golf Club
lies
on land that was once part of the old Sampson farm. The course occupies
an
excellent vantage point atop the southwest end of Blue Mountain, and
affords
wonderful views of the Central Ontario landscape and beautiful Georgian
Bay.
Since it first opened in 1986, the course has drawn an increasing
number of golfers each year to become one of the most popular golf
courses in
the
Georgian Bay area.
The
course was built on
property which had
previously been farmed. With the help of a friend who had owned his own golf course,
Dalton Sampson, the proprietor,
designed
the course, trying to leave the mature trees and put ponds in the most
natural
and justifiable locations.

The
fairways on the course cover the full gamut of playing conditions and
play ranges from level to hilly and
open to tight. Water affects
play on 12 holes, and magnificent maple trees line many fairways.
Duntroon's greens
are average in size, always kept in excellent condition and a challenge
to putt.
The licensed clubhouse with
outdoor patio, offers home style cooking in a
relaxed atmosphere. We have a fully stocked pro shop and complete
rentals
are available upon request. A practice putting green and warm up
area will
get you started upon arrival.
